The Painted Peppermint mug collection will now be Thursday 19th March and NOT Wednesday 18th, due to the difficulties we are having at the moment.

We are excited to let you know that we are hosting Painted Peppermint again, for a lovely Mother's Day event.


Pop along and paint a mug as a Mother's Day gift for someone special. Your mug will then be glazed, fired and individually packaged for you, ready to collect.


They really do look beautiful and make lovely gifts.


We will be running one 45 minute sessions on Saturday 7th March:

Booking is essential, as we expect the event to sell out. Spaces are limited.


A £5.00 per person non-refundable deposit is payable on booking. Each mug is £11.00. If you would like to paint more than one mug in your session, please make us aware when booking.

Fillpots Ceramic Bauble Painting: Saturday 16th November 10.30am and 11.45am

We are excited to welcome Painted Peppermint to Fillpots this Christmas!

We will be running two 45 minute ceramic bauble painting workshops, creating beautiful bespoke treasures, which you can give as Christmas gifts, or keep for your own trees!

Saturday 16th November: 10.30am and 11.45am.

Each bauble is 7.5 cm and will be hand-painted here at Fillpots - following a demonstration which explains how to use stencils, sponges and how to master freehand.

Your masterpieces are then taken off site, professionally glazed, kiln fired and delivered back to Fillpots gift packaged and individually labelled.

Your baubles will be ready to be collected from the Fillpots main tills from December 11th.

Spaces are limited to 20 children per session. We are expecting this event to sell out quickly, so please book to avoid disappointment.

Booking is secured with a £5.00 non-refundable deposit per child.

This can be paid directly at the Fillpots Garden Centre tills, or paid over the phone via credit card: 01206 273834.

The costs of each session is £12.50, with the remaining balance being paid on the day, directly to Painted Peppermint.

Our paint is non-toxic and washable from all fabrics, making this a mess free, non-hazardous activity.

The perfect opportunity for children to get creative and excited about the festive season!

Fillpots Christmas launch days!

Enjoy a free magical Christmas day out at Fillpots this festive season!

Come and meet and feed our wonderful live reindeer and take a picture in our beautiful sleigh! Have your face painted and be transformed into a Christmas fairy, elf or reindeer of your own!

Pick up a free mince pie and browse through our extensive Christmas department- full of decorations, trees, lights, wrapping and gifts. Everything you need to make your home and garden a winter wonderland this Christmas!

We will also have our large selection of real Christmas trees to choose from- shapes and sizes to suit any home!

Our gift department will be packed with stocking fillers and presents for all your friends and family, including gorgeous brands like Jelly Cat, Sophie Allport and Heyland Whittle.

We will also have a fabulous selection of Christmas food, including our delicious range of COOK meals, to help take the hassle out of Christmas entertaining!

Our Christmas days are completely free and no ticket is required! Come and join us on Sunday 1st December and Sunday 8th December. 10am until 4pm.

Children's Pizza making afternoon: Tuesday 13th July 2.30pm- 4.30pm

We are very excited to announce our 2nd summer holiday children's activity.

We would love to invite you to join us in Fillpots Cafe, for an afternoon of pizza making and eating!

Tuesday 13th August
2.30pm- 4.30pm

Our little chefs will be given their own pizza base and a lots of delicious topping to choose from, to create their own master pieces! Our chefs will then cook them and they can be enjoyed in the Cafe, or boxed up and taken home.

We will have gluten free options available.

Price per child is £5.00
This includes all pizza ingredients and a drink (a choice of different squash).

Adults are very welcome to order drinks and food from the Cafe and this will be charged separately.

The Big Cat children's storytelling and craft morning; Tuesday 30th July 10am- 11.30am

We are very excited to announce the start of our children's Summer holiday activities programme!

We are very lucky to have a wonderful local author, Emma Lazell, joining us for a morning of interactive storytelling and craft activities. Emma will be reading her well known book, The Big Cat and other lovely stories.

We will have copies of her book available to buy, which she will be happy to sign, but you are also very welcome to bring in any books you may already own by Emma and she will sign those for you too.

This is a free event, with no need to buy a ticket.

It will run from 10am to 11.30am.

2019 School Sunflower Competition


Our 2nd year of the Fillpots Sunflower competition has come to an end! We had a fantastic response, with over 90 schools taking part!

We’d like to thank everyone very much for taking part and hope that the children (and yourselves!) had lots of fun together!

As a little thank you, every school who sent in pictures of their sunflowers, will be sent some seed packets in the post.

Mother's Day plant pot creation!

We are holding two Mother’s Day craft sessions, for our younger visitors!

Tuesday 26th March
Wednesday 27th March
10am- 11.30am.

Pop down and decorate a pretty flowerpot. We will then plant our pots up together, with some colourful blooms, ready to present on Mother’s Day!

£6.00 per child, which includes a drink and fruit snack, whilst we create!

Garden Talks

We are delighted to announce the start of Fillpots seasonal ‘Garden talks’, which will take place here at the Garden Centre.

Our last course was held on Wednesday October 17th, run by the fantastic Sarah, from Hortus Garden Design.


Hortus Garden Design are a London based company, who are passionate about working with their clients, to renew a sense of excitement about their outdoor space. Hortus are a firm believer in the physical and emotional benefits that gardens so readily offer and they seek to implement this through their knowledge of plants and design. Designs include front gardens, city courtyard gardens, larger country gardens and everything in-between.


October’s course was 'Design and Planting ideas for your Garden - how to enhance your outdoor space with some simple design and planting tips'.

The aim of the course was to help provide you with the tools to create a well-balanced garden, with year-round interest.  Advice was also given on plants that will thrive in individual soil and light conditions, specific to your garden.  


A breakdown of the course is as follows:

  • Arrival and hot drink: 10am
  • 'Design and Planting’ talk, demonstration and questions 10.30- Midday
  • Lunch in Fillpots Cafe: Midday onwards


The talk will include:

Basic design principles

- What you have  -Site characteristics

- What you want -Essential items

- What you need - Styles, unity, focal points.

Planting ideas (with examples from the nursery)

- Clay soil, sun
